What will get the sunburn to tan and not peel?

im veryyy light and i have sunburn on my face and back right now -_- every time i get sunburn it never turns to tan it just peels off like a snake, i know gross right /: i used aloe but will this only help the pain? or will it get it not to peel if i use it very frequently? and can i use it on my face without breaking out? or is there anything else out there thats good for sunburn to turn into tan? lol thanks in advance !
